The Tier 2 structure is usually wrong.

Plenty of circulating PDFs merge two sections that have different clocks. Plan from that and you weight the wrong subjects for three months.

Dates get copied from last year.

Deadlines, correction charges and fee exemptions change per cycle. A stale date costs an attempt.

Nobody tells you what is unconfirmed.

The December Tier 1 date is reported, not notified. Anyone presenting it as fact is guessing.

English is the biggest Tier 2 module.

120 of the 405 marks — one third more than Maths, double General Awareness. It is also the section most aspirants study last.

Tier 1 marks do not enter the merit list.

Tier 1 is a gate. Rank comes from 405 marks in Tier 2 Session I. Beating the Tier 1 cut-off by a wide margin earns nothing.

The guessing arithmetic is not what you were told.

Tier 1 is +2 and −0.50, so a guess pays above 20% accuracy. Tier 2 is +3 and −1, so break-even is exactly 25% — meaning a blind four-option guess in Tier 2 is worth precisely zero.

How verification works

The aim is not to make official information sound certain when it is not. Rules can change, so every dated claim still points you back to ssc.gov.in.
